When I worked with SWAG before (I was just a producer, not an actor), the cinematographer said he wanted to see how Japanese film production works if he had the chance, as there would be a lot to learn. And from the director Chamoari's Twitter, I know that the cinematographer is essentially the director's alter ego; he has to capture the shots the director wants, otherwise, no matter how good the actors or actresses are, or how many ideas the director has, it's useless…
So cinematographers are really important. Capable cinematographers are highly sought after. Some actresses only work with a few fixed cinematographers—like Ayaka Kawakita, although the directors of her works are not the same, the cinematographer and other staff are always the same. It's not that Ayaka Kawakita… S1 didn't insist on using the same photographer, but rather believed that having the same staff would reassure Hebei residents and that the same photographer best captured the charm of the Hebei flower-themed landscape. Therefore, they haven't changed photographers since her return to the industry:
To capture the most beautiful Hebei flower images, she has consistently used the same photographer.
So, what situations should a photographer pay most attention to when taking photos?
Generally, because they are closest to the male and female actors, they are easily sprayed with their bodily fluids. For example, in S1's famous work "Intercourse with Bodily Fluids, Dense Sex," to capture the actors' passionate and sweaty state, the studio's air conditioning was usually set at around 30 degrees Celsius. At this point, not only were they sprayed with sweat by the actors' vigorous movements, but they themselves were also constantly sweating. To avoid sweat getting into their eyes and affecting filming, almost everyone wore headbands or tried to put ice packs in their pockets to cool down; filming was like torture…
But the real challenge is squirting!
Sakamichi Miru and Miru's squirting abilities are not on the same level.
I know many people enjoy watching actresses squirt, but the better an actress is at squirting, the harder she is to film. Even with protective goggles, people will still instinctively look away when they see an actress squirting, and the exciting scene will be missed.
Therefore, experienced photographers don't avoid or dodge. Some actresses can even withstand direct facial spray without flinching, which shows not only training but also a professional work ethic. However, if this continues for too long, not only will the actresses feel embarrassed, but the director will also feel that constantly having the cameraman's face sprayed isn't a sustainable practice. So, unless the cameraman needs to avoid angles where they'll be sprayed, they'll ask the actresses to "not exaggerate."
Now you understand why some actresses who were initially very powerful in their spray later have reduced their intensity or even disappeared completely (yes, I'm talking about Miru). Besides meetings with the production team to adjust their performances, the director also asks them to suppress their power—all for the sake of the cameraman.
