Is there a blacklist in the AV industry?
There's a saying that there are no permanent enemies in business. As long as an actress has sales ability, production companies are willing to give her opportunities. Otherwise, actresses like Minako Komukai, who was arrested for drug use every time she was caught, wouldn't have had films to shoot immediately after her release from prison. But the other side of "no permanent enemies in business" is that if you stop selling, everyone becomes your enemy. Anyone with bad character, a bad temper, or who inexplicably angers production companies or teams is in trouble once they lose sales as a shield. After all, there are so many actresses; one or two people not having films to shoot doesn't really matter, right?
So, are there any people who are clearly capable of selling but have been permanently blacklisted? Yes, there is, like Takimoto Rie, who identifies herself as a "whistleblower":
Why? Because she accused director "Treadyike Goro" of using his power to coerce her into sexual intercourse (this is a Rashomon-like situation), and vowed to fight against "AV coercion" to the end. No one wanted to cause trouble, so naturally they dared not or refused to cooperate with her. So what did Takimoto Rie do? It's very simple. If the AV industry wouldn't accept her, she switched to the FC2 platform, making and selling her own videos.
And then she succeeded!

Unlike other sellers on the FC2 platform, Rie Takimoto's works are very expensive, costing 30,000 yen per film (approximately 7,700 NTD), and two films together cost 60,000 yen. These days, telling people you bought two adult films for over 15,000 NTD might make many people think you've lost your mind. However, Rie Takimoto's approach serves two purposes: First, if you buy both films and leave your feedback in the comments section, she'll send you a bonus video, which reportedly receives rave reviews. Second, Takimoto deliberately raises the price of her work to prevent leaks, as the films are expensive, and the cost of leaking them is high. Naturally, some people who prefer free access will skip Takimoto's films.
So far, this strategy has been successful. Judging from the number of comments, Takimoto has made at least 3.6 million yen (approximately NT$925,000) on the FC2 platform. Furthermore, the comments show that everyone is very satisfied with her performance; her face, figure, bedroom skills, and the ejaculation design are all very arousing. Although the films are indeed expensive, buyers who have seen them feel the money was well spent…
So, will Rie Takimoto continue making films? I think so. After years of battling with SOD, we can see she's really tough, but she also genuinely wants to make AVs. It's not surprising; Takimoto Rie isn't the first actress to break away from the AV industry yet continue making AVs. Her success on the FC2 platform should excite her greatly. I believe that as long as she maintains her popularity and adjusts her approach based on fan reactions, she might actually survive in a way different from other actresses.
