Despite the shocking shooting incident, Japan still completed its House of Councillors election yesterday.
I'm not a political observer, but this election has a slight connection to the adult video (AV) industry—the image above illustrates how the new law is a slap in the face to the AV industry. While other countries typically have a three-year transition period from discussion to public hearings, to parliamentary passage and implementation, the new AV law skipped the first, second, and final stages, going directly to parliamentary passage and implementation, catching everyone off guard…
This is obviously targeted. So what was the AV industry supposed to do? Therefore, in this parliamentary election, they fully supported candidates willing to sit down and discuss the new law. And the result?

As a result, the two most famous ones, "Yoto Noriko" and "Kurishita Yoshiyuki," were both defeated!
This roughly illustrates just how dire the situation is for the AV industry. First, the new law has already been implemented, and frankly, the chances of a reversal are very slim. Furthermore, judging from the party affiliations of the two candidates on whom the AV industry pinned its hopes, it's clear that the AV industry's relationship with the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) is not deep (or rather, not good), hence the support for both candidates from the Constitutional Democratic Party…
But if I remember correctly, wasn't it this same party that initially proposed "AVs can't actually be inserted"? So, unless the industry has forgotten what this party initially said, it's because their relationship with the ruling party isn't good enough that they had to find candidates they could sit down and talk with to support them.
