Looking at the news popping up on my phone, I couldn't cheer up all day:
Mr. Ken Shimura has passed away, and a part of my life has died with him…
I first watched his show in my third year of junior high school. Even then, I knew that some people, no matter how hard they tried, just couldn't win in exams. But there was nothing I could do; my parents had expectations, my teachers had demands. So, every day after school, I would go to the video store, rent a copy of "Shimura's Hilarious Laughter," and laugh until my stomach hurt after my parents fell asleep. That became my best way to relieve stress. Sometimes, when I was under a lot of pressure, I would watch Yoko Ishino to burn calories (now that I think about it, I actually liked slender and delicate girls when I was little, especially those with well-proportioned calves). :
And so it happened. In just a few days, from the announcement of his diagnosis to his passing, Ken Shimura didn't even have time to say goodbye.
It's heartbreaking, truly heartbreaking.

Of course, looking back now, Shimura's big laughs back then weren't just about smoking heavily and making many jokes that were quite edgy, but... For me, who was studying in a Buddhist monk's class, this wasn't a problem. In fact, after I became a swordsman, I noticed that Ken Shimura, who was in the entertainment industry, actually had quite a few connections with the AV industry. His programs didn't exclude AV actresses, and for a while, his name was even linked with the recently retired Mihiro...
Just a few days before his death, someone was compiling a list of actresses who had received Ken Shimura's attention. In the TV program "Shimura de Night" broadcast on March 17th, there was footage of him collecting works by Shion Yuumi, Momo Sakura, Yui Shirasaka, and Nana Yagi. He also looked at Saya during the performance of "Idiot Prince." The image of Mana Kurakura (纱仓真菜) grinning blankly in her work reveals how this veteran actor viewed AV actresses:
Because Shimura was a highly respected figure in the industry, and many AV actresses had seen him, the news of his passing today shocked the industry. Besides Aino Hishi (希志爱野) expressing her longing for her mentor on Twitter, some actresses echoed the criticisms leveled against the Japanese government's ineffective pandemic response.
Finally, a small appeal: the severity of this pneumonia outbreak far exceeds our expectations. It's okay that we couldn't hold our event; please everyone take good care of yourselves so we can meet again healthy once the pandemic subsides and is under control.
