How do you find an adult film actress to work with?
Information is very transparent now. Everyone knows that to find an adult film actress, you need to contact her agency. As for which agencies are interested in actresses from adult exhibitions, that's clear. But then again, does every adult film actress really have an agency? Are there any actresses who are independent and don't have an agency?

Although Narumiya has some new works recently, I'm pretty sure she doesn't have an agency managing her right now, because she recently messaged ForAVer saying she doesn't have a management company and they'd like to invite her to Taiwan so we can discuss anything.

Why are there actresses without agencies? Everyone's situation is different. Kasai Ami (河西美) wanted to be her own boss and didn't want to be bound by an agency anymore. As for Kaede Aya (希咲あや), Komine Miko (小峰美子), and Narimiya Harua (成宫晴明), their original managers left the industry, leaving them without an agency (because they were all retiring at the time and didn't find a new one). Although they later sought help from managers to find work, they didn't sign contracts, so they still don't have an agency.
So, what if you don't have an agency?
First, it's very difficult to get offers from major production companies. Of course, the aforementioned actresses, in terms of popularity, probably wouldn't be easy targets for major companies. However, when it comes to filming, the larger the production company, the more they care about the agency (that's why almost every agency attends the company's year-end party to ask for continued support next year). Actresses without agencies have a very difficult time breaking into this field. Secondly, they easily become targets for uncensored production companies because these companies don't have to comply with Japanese law or require actresses to have an agency. Or perhaps we should say that for uncensored production companies, not having an agency is better; maybe they can get more actresses to be unrestricted!
This is why the uncensored production company Tokyo-Hot later went to photo shoots to find actresses. Girls without agencies are unaware of the harsh realities of the industry; not only is the money negotiable, but the content is also very open to discussion. Of course, sometimes we feel sorry for actresses when we see the percentage of commission their agencies take, but sometimes it's really necessary for agencies to support them and protect them so they can focus on their work. Although there's a growing trend of uncontracted actresses, I haven't seen any top-tier actresses among them yet.
