Want to be an adult film actor? Beware of scammers!
Japanese police arrested a 23-year-old conman in Fukuoka yesterday. He defrauded a man aspiring to become an adult film actor of 960,000 yen (approximately NT$270,000). Although the suspect denies the charges, Japanese police believe there may be more victims and are expanding their investigation.
So, how did he scam the money?
Honestly, with so many scams these days, everyone's vigilance is high, so it's not that easy to scam someone: The suspect contacted the victim after learning that the victim had previously applied for adult video roles on a website, offering to introduce him to a job, and then asked him to show his driver's license to prove his identity.

They didn't ask you for money, just your driver's license. There seems to be no problem with that, right? The suspect then asked the victim to go home and wait for a call, saying, "The actress will be here soon." He then quickly used the victim's driver's license to apply for a small loan, obtaining 1 million yen (approximately NT$281,000) in a short time.
Having achieved his goal, he returned the driver's license and sincerely apologized to the victim: "I'm sorry the actress can't come, I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Here's a compensation of 40,000 yen (NT$11,200)."
This scheme seemed foolproof, but the victim immediately realized he had been scammed when he contacted the bank, and the fraudster was quickly apprehended.
This isn't actually related to the AV industry, but in recent years, quite a few men have fallen victim to scams trying to become AV actors. Earlier this year, someone swindled nearly NT$20 million under the pretense of "taking you to AV actresses." So, seriously, if you want to become an AV actor or have sex with an AV actress, be very careful; there are many scammers these days!
